Travel Insurance is something which you buy, but hope never to use. If you are unfortunate and have to use it, you want to be sure that the policy you have is suitable for the situation. In order to protect you, therefore, we have arranged a comprehensive travel insurance policy through Master Travel Insurance, which is underwritten by Union Reiseversicherung AG, thus providing first class security. We need to bring to your attention certain information about your Travel Insurance Policy.

A full copy of the wording will be sent to you along with your booking confirmation invoice. If the cover provided does not meet your requirements, or if you have any queries about the insurance, please call John Brander on 01923 224881, who will be pleased to answer your queries and arrange additional or alternative cover if necessary.

The policy excludes claims arising from pre-existing medical conditions so you need to tell insurers about anything that is likely to affect their acceptance of cover.

This will also apply to anyone upon whom the trip depends and is not insured under the policy. In order to obtain confirmation of cover, please telephone Travellers Healthcheck on 08 456 582 999 so that they can advise whether full cover can be granted. Failure to contact Travellers Healthcheck will prejudice any claim that you may make resulting from a medical condition that has not been declared.

Under the ABI Code of Business Practice, your attention is drawn to the following important features of your travel insurance policy.

POLICY DOCUMENT:
This contains the full details of the cover provided plus the conditions and exclusions which apply to it. You must read the insurance policy carefully.

CONDITIONS, EXCLUSIONS & WARRANTIES:
There are conditions and exclusions which apply to individual sections and general conditions, exclusions and warranties which apply to the whole policy.

FRAUDULENT CLAIMS:
The making of a fraudulent claim is a criminal offence.

MEDICAL EXPENSES:
Please note this section does not provide private health care unless specifically approved by the emergency service.

BAGGAGE & MONEY CLAIMS:
These claims are based on the value of the goods at the time you lose them and not on a "new for old or replacement cost basis". Police reports and Property Irregularity Reports are required in the event of a claim. Losses from motor vehicles, the beach or public areas are excluded. Do not leave baggage unattended.

POLICY LIMITS:
Most sections of your policy have limits on the amount the Insurer will pay under that section. The Baggage & Money sections also include the specific limits relating to any one article, valuables in total and cash. Expensive items, such as video cameras, should be insured all year round under a Household or All Risks Insurance.

"COOLING OFF" PERIOD:
We have tried to produce as comprehensive a policy as possible. However, if having asked Master Travel to provide additional cover, you find that the policy does not meet your needs, you can return the policy to us for a full refund of premium. This must be done within 7 days of making your booking, and you must not have travelled, nor submitted (or intended to submit) a claim.

HAZARDOUS HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES:

If you are going to take part in hazardous holiday activities, check that your policy covers you. U.K. LAW: This allows the parties to choose the Law applicable to the contract. The contract will be subject to English Law unless otherwise agreed.

DATE RECOGNITION FAILURE:

Your policy may contain exclusions for losses arising from failure of equipment to correctly recognise the calendar date, such as the change to the year 2000.

POLICY EXCESS:
Under most sections of the policy claims will be subject to an excess. This means you will be responsible for that part of the claim. The amount you have to pay is the excess.

REASONABLE CARE:

You need to take all reasonable care to protect yourself and you property, as you would if you were not insured.

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION:

Whilst Master Travel and the Insurers intend to give you a first class service, it is possible that you may be dissatisfied with the way in which a claim is handled. In that case a complaints procedure is clearly shown in the policy.
