Innovative crib scenes on display in Spain |
Holidaymakers who will be staying in Costa Brava villas during the festive season may be interested in visiting the town of Olot to see a number of unusual Christmas displays.
A range of crib scenes will be on show at various locations around the town between December 5th and January 13th.
This tradition, which has been upheld in Olot for more than a decade, aims to provide a link between traditional Christmas crib displays and contemporary interests.
Olot is the capital of the 'comarca', or county, of Garrotxa. People staying in Costa Brava villas who visit the town will be able to see some impressive landscapes, as it is situated in an area with many extinct volcanoes.
The urban area even includes two volcanic craters and is consequently given protection by the Parliament of Catalonia.
Another option for people taking villa holidays on the Costa Brava is a tour around the Romanesque churches and monasteries of the Girona Pyrenees region.
