Malaga to host water polo contest |
People staying in Costa del Sol villas this summer will be able to visit the city of Malaga as it hosts a major sporting event.
Between July 3rd and 13th, the coastal city will host the Water Polo European Championship, which is the most important occasion on the sport's annual calendar.
National teams from all over the continent meet at Malaga's Aquatic Centre, a sporting complex that has been built specifically for the occasion, which has ambitions to become Europe's best facility of its kind.
The centre is located just 200 metres from the seafront and provides visitors with another attraction, alongside the ever-present sun, sea and sand.
Malaga is a port city in the Andalusia region of southern Spain and is one of the country's major tourist hotspots.
Many visitors head to Malaga to explore its coastal areas and the harbour, while other attractions include Gibralfaro Castle and a museum dedicated to Pablo Picasso, who was born in the city.
