New Spanish connections from Leeds |
People based in the Yorkshire region who are planning villa holidays in Spain will this month be able to make use of new flights to the country from Leeds Bradford airport.
Ryanair launched a new scheduled service to Girona, the gateway to the Costa Brava, from the Yorkshire airport today (October 2nd).
This service will offer holidaymakers access to a number of sunshine resorts, as well as the city break hotspot of Barcelona and the Pyrenees mountains on the border between France and Spain.
Flights to Girona, which will operate four times a week, will complement a new Ryanair route to Alicante launching on October 28th, which will prove useful for people staying in Costa Blanca villas.
Tony Hallwood, Leeds Bradford airport's commercial and aviation development director, said: "We are delighted to see the start of these new services with Ryanair.
"Their popularity is testament to the huge demand for low-cost air travel in Yorkshire and it is fantastic to see Ryanair developing their range of international services from Leeds Bradford."
Leeds Bradford airport recently announced that it is one of the fastest growing airports in the UK, handling more than 1.2 million passengers between May and August this year.
